The Presbytery's Self Development of People Committee is responsible for the administration, interpretation, and implementation of the Self-Development of People Program of the Presbyterian Church (USA) within the Presbytery, in accordance with the mandate and criteria set forth by the 181st General Assembly.

The Self Development of People program is funded by the PC(USA) One Great Hour of Sharing Offering (OGHS). Presbyteries who have an SDOP Committee may award grants with 1/6 of its presbytery’s OGHS offering. Presbytery of Florida’s SDOP Committee has been in existence since 2002 and has been active in working with people at or below the poverty level. SDOP grants are awarded to groups who live in poverty and need assistance to not only address poverty but to fight injustices, such as discrimination or drug-infested neighborhoods with no means to improve their plight.
