The Council of Presbytery is composed of 15 voting members, exempt Presbytery staff and five non-voting members. The Council is responsible for the harmonious and effective ministry of the governing body and of its Missions and Committees. It assigns the defined objectives of the Presbytery to appropriate groups and makes certain that they are pursued. It strives to look ahead and, in consultation with the Missions and Committees, to recommend to the Presbytery future forms of mission and ministry.
All missions and committees have direct access to the Presbytery in the presentation of reports, but the Council promotes cooperation among these groups to avoid duplication, overlapping, conflict and confusion. The Council ordinarily meets at least four weeks prior to each stated meeting of Presbytery and at other times, as needed, upon call of the Chair.
