About us

The Presbytery of Florida is called to serve God using our gifts and skills to Excite, Encourage, Equip and Empower our congregations and clergy in mission and ministry.

We are a small presbytery of 46 congregations – 45 churches and one new church development – with total active membership of 7,568 and 92 ministers on roll. Our congregations are in the Panhandle of Florida, stretching from Monticello on the east to Pensacola on the west and spanning the Eastern and Central time zones. Our churches are grouped into three geographic districts – West, 15 churches; Central, 18 churches; and East, 13 churches.

Dogwood Acres, located in the central district, is a 516-acre camp developed and supported by our presbytery. The property includes three ponds, hiking trails, a lighted swimming pool, volleyball and basketball courts, baseball field, and overnight facilities for up to 90 people. Our presbytery offers a complete program for youth, grades 4-12, during the months of June and July.

All activities of the Presbytery of Florida are organized and carried out through either the Mission for Dogwood Acres and Outdoor Ministry, Mission for Spiritual Development or our committees.

The Mission for Dogwood Acres and Outdoor Ministry is responsible for all matters relating to short- and long-term planning, management, development, operations and programs connected with the Presbytery's Dogwood Acres camp.

The Mission for Spiritual Development is responsible for the development of resources, programs and training for church leaders and teachers to enhance and enrich ministries on the local level.

Additional information about these Missions and the Presbytery's committees is available on this Web site's Committees and Church Development and Evangelism pages.
